Adraki Aloo Matar

Potatoes and Peas cooked with a ginger buzz!!

Though fancy and complex dishes do allure us, but there comes a time!! When you want to have some simple,quick, and homemade dish. With minimal ingredients and less cooking time, this dish can come handy for college students. It goes well with dal on the side.

Preparation Time: 5 Mins
Cooking Time: 30 Mins
Effort: Minimum


Ginger - Cut 10-15 Thin Strips and Keep inch long piece aside
1 Tomato
1 Green Chili
1 Big Potato - Chopped Small cubes
1 Cup Peas
Cooking Oil
Salt, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder

Prepare : Grind tomato, ginger and green chili to a coarse paste.


1. Heat 1 tbsp butter/cooking oil. Fry ginger strip till golden crispy brown. Take Strips out.

2. Add the the prepared paste to oil. Saute this paste till cook. Add salt, turmeric powder and coriander Powder. Cook for 3-4 mins.

3. Add Potatoes and peas. Cook in covered pan(stirring occasionally) till potatoes are done.

Garnish with Coriander Leaves and Fried ginger Strips.

Serve with Roti and Salad.
